Abstract:

This dataset shows several water intake structures on Pohnpei. The original data are from Pohnpei State Government. Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) shifted the features to coincide with the closest nearby river. This data set requires verification as accuracy and completeness levels are not known and attribute information is not available.

Purpose: To show several water intake structures on Pohnpei.

The dataset is included the Digital Atlas of Micronesia, module Pohnpei, by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi), in collaboration with Water and Environmental Research Institute of the Western Pacific (WERI) University of Guam and partial funding from United States Geological Survey (USGS), under WRRI 104-B Program, project # 2016GU302B.

The original dataset is part of a data collection effort by iREi over many years and from a variety of sources. Many of the original sources are unknown due to incomplete metadata, but mostly include NGOs and state and national government agencies in the FSM. This particular layer was most likely created by the Pohnpei State Government. The dataset was obtained by iREi prior to 2012.
